Urgent Meeting
The Algerian Football Federation has decided to hold an urgent meeting with the national technical committee. The meeting will take place on Thursday and is led by Wissam Chadi, the president of the federation, and Rabah Saadane, known as the 'father of Algerian football.'
Background of the Decision
Following the mutual agreement to terminate Vladimir Petkovic's contract after two years and several months, the federation has initiated a series of formal moves towards several coaches from the Latin school. The federation plans to repeat the same strategy used previously with Petkovic by passing decisions through a local technical committee to avoid bearing full responsibility for future steps.
According to the Algerian newspaper 'El Khabar,' the national technical committee, under the leadership of head coach Ali Mousse and Rabah Saadane, will discuss potential candidates for replacing Petkovic. The committee plans to study the files of names that have been in contact with the local federation led by Wissam Chadi, providing recommendations on the most suitable profiles for overseeing the technical staff.
The Algerian Football Federation is working to avoid taking independent steps as it did previously, aiming to prevent the heavy pressures faced during the handling of Petkovic's case in recent weeks.
