In response to current instability and a poor performance in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup 2026, the Algerian Football Federation is planning a dual strategy aimed at acquiring two promising Italian players from Inter Milan and Modena. The first target is goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Yaideen of Modena, Italy. At just 22 years old, Al-Yaideen has shown genuine interest in representing Algeria internationally and was previously noticed for his performances with Swiss youth squads.
The federation’s eyes are also on Yannis Massolin, a former teammate currently playing for Modena. The tactic here is twofold – first, the allure of returning to an international club where he can establish himself while helping Algeria; second, understanding that his future with France might be limited due to recent national team affiliations. Two years ago, these very clubs had offered contracts from Algerian teams in a different signing effort but were declined by Massolin and Al-Yaideen. However, this new offer holds greater potential as the players are now looking for a fresh start internationally.
