The Yemeni Football Association confirmed the continuation of the national team's coach, Algerian Nor Eddine Ouali, in leading the national team, after rumors of his resignation from coaching the national team. And the Football Union, from its president Sheikh Al-Essi, that the Algerian coach Ouali will continue his duties in training the national team, during the upcoming international matches, including the Gulf 27 tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from September 23 to October 6, 2026, as well as the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027. And Al-Essi denied the recent rumors about Ouali's resignation or departure, pointing out that those news were not true and were just rumors lacking credibility. He explained that the Board of Directors of the Union entrusted the technical staff of the national team in its last meeting, highlighting the Union's keenness to prepare the conditions for the success of the national team's participation in various international matches. He said that the preparation phase of the national team will start in the coming days to resume the preparations for the Gulf tournament, which he described as "an important preparatory phase for the Asian Cup", revealing an external camp for the national team and the desire to play international friendly matches to enhance the team's readiness to present the expected level in the Gulf Cup.
